Christmas in the Wild ~ at Esiweni Luxury Safari Lodge

Christmas at Esiweni Lodge under the African sun

“At this time of year, when the light is extraordinary, we try to keep a touch of the French Christmas tradition. Little ones all dream of waking up on the morning of the 25th and finding at the foot of the Christmas tree the gifts brought by Santa Claus. We put up a big tree, all lit up with lights, to serve as a hiding place for Santa who will come if you have been good. We, Sophie and Ludovic, the owners, and our team of mainly local Zulu men and women, will resonate the joy of African living on Christmas Eve to the rhythm of music and Zulu dances. Guests joining us will have their taste buds excited with surprises prepared by Chef John and his team ~ whose Christmas Log will be shared on Christmas Eve. The most greedy will resume, for sure… It’s Christmas! And the desire to enjoy the light of the last sunset of the year will lead us to enjoy a glass of Moët & Chandon Champagne around a fire lit for the occasion in the bush. And on January 6, to end this holiday season, what could be more festive and magical than pulling kings while enjoying the galette des kings Esiweni Lodge has made according to the recipe of Sophie’s grandmother?”
