Christmas in the Wild
Deep in the wilds of this private Sabi Sand reserve, Christmas looks a little different.
At Londolozi Private Game Reserve, the traditions of white winters and snowmen in the garden are replaced by a summertime glow and beautiful wooden giraffes as Christmas trees ~ dressed up in lights and placed on the deck of each camp, as the countdown to Christmas takes over.
The trees were designed by Simon Max Bannister, once an artist in residence at the lodge. By day they are simply beautiful art pieces and by night, they turn into magical Christmas trees. They have become something of a Christmas tradition at Londolozi for the last six years.
Surely, one of the most unique we’ve ever encountered.
